In a spirit of celebration and reflection, Our Lady of Fatima School in Kpong marked the beginning of the academic year with a vibrant Opening Mass and Awards Ceremony on Friday 13th September, 2024. The event, held in the school's auditorium, saw the participation of students, staff, and parents, all united in faith and a shared commitment to academic excellence.

The Opening Mass, celebrated by Rev. Fr. Francis Nawo Boafo, was a moment of spiritual rejuvenation, setting a positive tone for the academic year ahead. Fr. Boafo encouraged the students to embrace their studies with dedication and focus, while also urging them to rely on the guidance of God in their educational pursuits. The mass emphasized the importance of not only academic achievement but also moral and spiritual growth, a core value of Our Lady of Fatima School.

Following the mass, the highly anticipated Awards Ceremony took place, recognizing students who had demonstrated exceptional performance in academics, extracurricular activities, and leadership roles in the previous year. Awards were distributed for various categories, including best in class, first runner-ups, and second runner-ups. Special awards were also given to students who had made significant contributions to the school community. These honors are intended to motivate students to strive for excellence and to appreciate the value of hard work and integrity.

In her closing remarks, Sr. Paulina Osei, Headmistress of Our Lady of Fatima School, congratulated the award recipients and encouraged all students to use this as motivation to aim higher. "Our goal is to foster not just academic brilliance, but to nurture students who are morally upright and socially responsible," she stated.

The event concluded with the induction of a new Students' Leadership for both Primary and JHS departments, accompanied by stunning performances by the school choir, showcasing the rich heritage of the school community. It was a day filled with joy, gratitude, and a renewed sense of purpose, leaving everyone inspired to achieve even greater heights in the new academic year.
